'A Simple Life' big winner at Taiwan film festival


Ann Hui who was born 23 May 1947.She is a Hong Kong film director and film producer.Recently, she has won the best director award for her movie "A Simple Life" at Taiwan's Golden Horse Film Festival.

The Hong Kong film director  says she was surprised that Saturday's award did not go to one of the promising younger directors also nominated at the event for Chinese-language movies.

"A Simple Life" is a exciting film.The film also won Andy Lau the best actor award and Deanie Ip the best actress honor. Ip plays a domestic helper who copes with her own aging while serving her master, played by Lau.Actually,It is an interesting film.


The awards would encourage Hong Kong's lagging film industry to keep producing good movies said Lau.

All people of the   Hong Kong are actually surprised by this Award,because it is Chinese-language movie.   The best film award went to Taiwanese director Wei Te-sheng's "Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale," an epic film about an aboriginal tribe's uprising against Japanese colonial rulers.When a movie would be fine ,then the movie will get Award.

Lucky, Hong Kong director Ann Hui holds her award for Best Director at the 48th Golden Horse Awards, Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, in Hsinchu, northern Taiwan. Ann Hui won for the film " A Simple Life " at this year's Golden Horse Awards -the Chinese-language film industry's biggest annual even.
